Hi, welcome!

Heya.
So, I made this comm due to a suggestion in
create_my_comm, because I thought it sounded like a really good idea and a few people expressed an interest. ^_^
The suggestion was a "religious tolerance comm," specifically "where people to talk/ask questions about other religions/issues they have with other religions. [...] say you're a member of a minority religion, or you have a few friends whose religion you don't understand, this would be a place to ask questions and hopefully come away with more understanding."
Essentially, this is a place you can come and chat about religion. Chat about your beliefs, your lack of beliefs, ask questions you have about your own religion or about other religions that you are less familiar with or unsure of specific aspects of, provide info about your religion/some other religion you are familiar with, discuss/debate various aspects of religion, and so forth and so on! Anything pertaining to religion is welcome here.
Unless something comes up, the only rule is respect, accept, tolerate. You don't have to agree with what others post, you don't have to like it. But you need to show everyone respect, and accept that their ideas may not be the same as yours, and show tolerance for them and their ideas. You are free to disagree and discuss things, but do so with respect. Attack ideas, not those who share them.
*Edit: The second rule is to tag. Forgot about that!
You can create your own tags when you make a post, and then when the comm hopefully grows a bit, it'll switch to tagging yourself still, but not creating new ones anymore (to prevent overlap/similar things being created slightly differently and such, with more people that'd become more common); you'll always be able to request new tags be made, though, if you don't think the right tag exists just let me know! ^^ But for a while, anyway, you can do everything yourself. ^_^
If you're unsure of how exactly you should tag something, you're welcome to ask me, and/or ask in your post and have everyone give input. For right now, I won't make a rigid standard for them, we'll just see how things go. I'm not opposed to taking my time and renaming things later on if we decide that a more structured approach would work better. ^^ ...Or, if you have some idea already, throw it at me, I'm always open. ^_^
Any questions/comments can be directed to me,
travelingmonkey, at any time. I am happy to help in any way I can! ^_^
